KION Battery Systems GmbH (KBS) is a joint venture between KION GROUP AG and BMZ Holding GmbH and has been manufacturing high-performance 48- and 80-volt battery systems with lithium-ion technology for the e-trucks of KION subsidiaries STILL and Linde Material Handling in Kahl am Main (Germany) since 2020. Since 2022, the site has been expanded to include a second production line, which will manufacture 24-volt batteries for use in electrified warehouse equipment.

In addition to manufacturing, the site includes an additional research, administration and warehouse area.
