What Customer Focus Means for the KION Group: Nine Examples

You can always rely on KION Group brands when you need them. Our customer service teams are easy to contact, our spare parts are available immediately, and our service technicians are always with you in no time. Below, we’ve listed nine examples that prove that we couldn’t be more focused on our customers’ needs.

Here at the KION Group, we have been building and manufacturing trucks, systems, and solutions for decades, and continue to set new standards in technology. But that’s only half the story. We and our brands Linde Material Handling, STILL, Dematic, and Baoli are there for our customers whenever they need us—even long after the sale is completed, and our products have been delivered.

Thanks to our worldwide network of service technicians, we’re ready to provide our customers with advice and support at all times. What’s more, we prioritize maintaining a strong connection with the people who use our products and solutions on a daily basis. Here are nine examples that show just how close our relationship with our customers actually is.

62,000 trucks and accessories are included in Linde MH’s versatile fleet of rental forklift trucks and industrial trucks. Our customers can rent them for just one day, or for an entire year—essentially whenever they need additional power. This is particularly handy when a truck is only needed for a specific event or at peak times such as Christmas business or harvest season.

14,428 kilometers (8965 miles) is the average distance that a STILL service technician covers in Germany each year to perform maintenance work and repair faults. Incidentally, many issues are now resolved remotely, which saves time and money and is good for the environment!

98% technical availability for equipment, software, and systems across the entire operating period—this is Dematic’s guarantee from the second level of its life cycle agreements and above. Customers can therefore be sure that systems will always operate at the highest level and that their goods flow will run smoothly, efficiently, and without interruption.

33 countries were represented at the STILL Customer Days in 2024. Customers from around the world, together with their local STILL sales advisors, traveled to STILL HQ in Hamburg from all over the world. STILL HQ organizes this exclusive event at least once a year in order to present the latest STILL products and solutions to customers in person and in the most engaging way possible—and to give them a glimpse behind the scenes in Production with a factory tour.

10 million is the number of possible truck configurations when ordering the Linde K combination truck. Various versions of the mast, chassis, battery, and cab are available for the very narrow aisle trucks, which can be combined according to the customer’s specific requirements. This is just one example of the high level of customization offered by KION Group products.

52 is the number of countries in which KION brand Baoli now has a presence throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Baoli was founded in 2003 in Jingjiang, China and has been part of the KION Group since 2009. Since 2022, all Baoli trucks have been produced at the new KION factory in Jinan, providing our customers with more choice at a specific price-performance ratio.

60,000 Linde spare parts are stocked at the “world distribution center” in Kahl am Main, Germany. Regardless of which part needs to be replaced on which Linde MH brand model, it is guaranteed to be dispatched the following day. Every day, more than 6000 items leave Kahl on time headed for destinations all over the world, ensuring that any truck can be repaired quickly.

50,000 trucks have been produced in the first ten years since the establishment of KION South America in Indaiatuba, Brazil. As the headquarters for KION in South America, the site combines sales, service, and production of forklift trucks, warehouse technology, and automation solutions. For our customers in South America this means faster availability and more local production.

1 forklift truck tattooed on someone’s lower weg: this is probably the best evidence for brand loyalty imaginable! This fan identifies so strongly with our Linde Material Handling brand, that he had the red forklift inked directly onto his skin.

These nine facts show that we are always there for our customers—and they really do appreciate it, which is also a great source of pride for us!
